Berlin holocaust memorial
Berlin Hidden Places on Gunter Denmig's Memorial tablets:
Gunter Demnig has laid more than 50 paving stones, covered with sheets of brass on the footpaths in front of former residential buildings where Jewish residents lived in Oranien and Dresdener Strasse. Their names, dates of birth and of their fate are engraved in the metal and are a reminder of their persecution during the Third Reich. The art and memorial action was part of the exhibition titled "Artists search for Auschwitz," organized by the Neue Gesellschaft für Bildende Kunst in Berlin (New Society for Fine Art in Berlin) in 1996 and is still incomplete today.
